Peter Wilmoth

Peter Wilmoth spent many years writing for The Age and The Sunday Age newspaper, focussing mainly on features and profiles. His profiles were collected by Pan Macmillan in a book ‘Up Close: 28 Lives of Extraordinary Australians’… including Layne Beachley, Andrew Denton and Peter Carey.

He is the author of several books including the co-written autobiographies of actor Bud Tingwell, footballer James Hird and businessman and philanthropist Harold Mitchell, and ‘Glad All Over’, a history of the TV program Countdown.

He is a freelance contributor to several media outlets including The Weekly Review, The Sunday and The Weekend Australian. He is a regular panellist on ABC TV’s News Breakfast program speaking about the media. He is a guest lecturer in journalism and writing at RMIT and Monash Universities. In 2015 and 2016 he was a judge for Best Feature for the Quill Awards for Journalism.
