Everyone has a story. We can help put that story on the page.

It’s about capturing stories and presenting them in the best way, whether it becomes a short memoir, a full-length autobiography, a family history or the story of a business.

Many want to write the story of their life but the task might feel overwhelming. Where do you start? How do you organize the material? Once the stories and researched information is there, what’s the best way to write it?

Narrative Publishing was launched in 2012 by Melbourne journalist Peter Wilmoth.

Peter has worked as a journalist and writer for more than 30 years. He is well-known for his features, profiles and columns in The Age and The Sunday Age.

A collection of his interviews – ‘Up Close: 28 Lives of Extraordinary Australians’ – was published in 2005 by Pan Macmillan.

With his long history as a story-teller, having written about hundreds of lives, Peter knows everyone has a story to tell, but many are not sure how to put it on the page. He conceived Narrative Publishing as a vehicle for people to tell their stories with the help of professional writers with wide experience in newspapers, magazines and books.

Narrative Publishing will meet with you to match a writer who will research the story, interview you and others and write a life story with all the structure of professional biography.

We will help you tell life stories, business stories, stories that can be put on the page and kept forever for friends, family and colleagues.

We will start a project from scratch, interviewing key people, transcribing tapes, conducting research and writing a memoir with the subject’s involvement all the way. The process is creative and collaborative.

We will also edit and re-work an existing manuscript to get it ready for printing.

We can help your story last forever.

Narrative Publishing can re-work copy for websites, edit words that may need it, write speeches and give talks about writing, researching and how to self-edit.
